Thursday Thirteen

Name That Brand Edition

I got to thinking the other day about how we get to know brands by their taglines, so for each tagline listed here, name that brand:

1. "Makes Mouths Happy!"

2. "Zoom Zoom!"

3. "We work hard so you don't have to!"

4. "Gimme a break!"

5. "We didn't invent the chicken, just the chicken sandwich" also "Eat More Chicken"

6. "You're in Good Hands"

7. "Bet you can't eat just one!"

8. "Have it your way"

9. "Real. Comfortable. Jeans."

10. "I'm free to do what I want, any old time!"

11. "It's the Network!"

12. "Eat Fresh!"

13. "Fast, effective heartburn relief with calcium. Something your body needs anyway!"

ha ha,I know it is funny how well those messages really do stick in our head. I took an advertising course on a whim once, and I was appaled at all I learned. Never had I suspected that Gilette was quite so sneaky,so manipulative, so... good at getting a man's money. Lol! Let's just say, a 'good' ad exec uses Psychology studies to his/her benefit; like putting good looking women in their razor ads (?) and making me think that they will get these kind of girls, only if they use their brand of razor. Lol! Like a razor could lend a shot to some of the men that I have laid eyes upon! Ha ha !!:)

What a fun idea! These phrases are ingrained in my head, I can hear them just like they are on right now.

The thing is that I know I have heard all of them, but the actual slogan is more familiar that the company that is advertising the product. Kind of defeats the purpose-huh.

I can relate to you alot, I am around the same age, love to blog and write, and my husband and I are youth ministers. You should check out my blog
