A Phone Call

I had an exciting thing happen Friday night. I got to talk to GiBee on the phone. I actually talked to both she and her husband while they were trying to give me directions to her church.
This is my first "real contact" with a fellow blogger besides those in my family that blog. I can't wait until Saturday when we actually get to meet in person!
But the phone call itself is not what I really wanted to post about. I want to post about the fact that my cell service (though usually excellent) doesn't seem to want to work at my house. Now this wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that my brother and I decided that we wouldn't get a phone hooked up. We decided to just use our cell phones.
Well, I can hear people just fine so long as I don't move a muscle and keep one foot in the air and my tongue stuck out just so. Okay, so I don't have to do all that, but I'm wondering why I can't get good service where we live. I mean it isn't in the middle of nowhere. There are like a million housing developments near me, and there is a definite need for good cell service.
Do you guys have one place where your cell phone just wants to be ornery, or is it just me?

i had soooo many more problems when i was on cingulair. now that i'm on verizon, i haven't had dropped calls, and when no one else has service, i somehow still do. i always laugh when i see cingulair's billboards about how they have the best coverage, and the fewest dropped calls. HA! definitely not in my neck of the woods!

Seriously...Emily is SO right. I switched to Cingular because all my family was on there and, well, it's cheapter that way. They have false advertising with the "fewer dropped calls" bit and I can't even get reception in my house! I have to go to one corner of the house to even be able to talk, which isn't very practical with a toddler in the house. I would love to be able to use it for my long distance, but it doesn't work well enough for that. I also can't get reception in my mom's house or most of the 2 1/2 hours to my mom's house. But in big cities it's fine (just not in my house)! I feel your pain!!!

And you got to talk to GiBee? WOW!!!

Oh, stop!!! I was excited that I got to talk to YOU!

As for cell phone service ... we have Cingular One, and I really don't have a problem with them. My husband does, though. I just think he's picky.

I think we might be switching to Verizon when our year is up in December!
